Youth and training
Born in Paris of British parents, Alfred Sisley initially devoted himself to commerce before turning to his true passion: painting. His artistic career began at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he met Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, forging a lasting friendship and artistic collaboration that would profoundly influence his career.
