Biography
Did DONTZOFF, born in Paris in 1956 of Russian origin, comes from a long line of artists. From 1973 to 1985, he practiced contemporary dance all over the world, then in 1985, he turned to painting. Full of a graffiti and street art culture, the characters haunting his paintings are imaginary and awake. His travels as well as music have a primordial influence on the creation of these beings who are frozen but at the same time seem to live in the web created by the artist on the canvas. These characters are in perpetual metamorphosis. Through a painting full of exuberant energy and colors, Did Dontzoff speaks to us about the stupidity, violence, beauty, hatred, love, seriousness, the role of logic and the absurdity that surround our daily lives.
